Why Do You Need A Regular Aircon Service in Singapore?

With a diverse population, tropical climate and urbanization, there is a need of AC in almost every part of Singapore. Offices or residentials, you will see aircon installed even in the subways as the weather is almost hot and humid throughout.

Singapore experiences tropical climate most time of the year. There is a need for AC units inside houses or flats or offices. This also means, to make you stay inside comfortably the aircons should be running for longer periods. Well-ventilated houses can lessen this high usage to some degree. But, for those living in flats in Singapore, an air-conditioner is a must because the heat gets trapped inside due to the concrete.

Constantly running your AC means it will get affected by wear and tear faster if you don’t take care of it. Calling experts for aircon service will reduce the impact of wear and tear of your unit.

Prolong lifespan

ACs purify air by filtering out smoke particles, mites and odors. Owing to the advancement of technology, air conditioning manufacturers today design ACs that not only have faster cooling rates but which also save up to 60% electricity. However, air conditioners need to be regularly maintained to give peak performance.

Aircon service is vital as it helps to prolong the lifespan of the unit. Any defects can be taken care of on time to ensure that it runs the way it is supposed to without any problem. In case of any failure or functionality defect, it is important to consult aircon service providers that can help you sort the defects. Moreover, a regular aircon servicing will avoid such circumstances and the lifespan of your unit will gradually be stabilized.

Improve efficiency to save electricity and cost

An air-conditioning unit requires care and attention to guarantee a long service life. Regular Aircon servicing is the only way your AC runs optimally for a long time.

Aircon servicing helps to improve its efficiency so that it can work the way it is supposed to. This also helps to save on utility bills such as electricity. Electric bills are also higher for houses that have unmaintained air-conditioners. It is because they require more energy to operate at the same level you want them to which is why you need to clean up those clogs so it runs smoothly.

An aircon that operates for longer hours will eventually breakdown. A shorter service life means you must replace your unit immediately to get the same comfort. It is advisable for AC owners to maintain them regularly to extend its operating life.

Reach to the aircon service experts

If you are in Singapore, it is recommended that an air-conditioning unit gets checked and cleaned three to four times a year for maximum service life.

At DC Aircon, we believe that if your air-conditioning units are serviced regularly, you can be assured of a much cooler, comfortable and healthier home or office environment that saves us money in the long run. We have expert technicians that are skilled to unclog the pipes and clean the aircon off dust and particles to make it run smoothly. They can also do a thorough inspection to check for internal damages in the aircons to diagnose the problem early and fix it right away.

Hurdles in Large Scale Adoption of IoT Technology

As you all are aware Internet of Things or IoT lets you connect multiple devices within a network. All the connected device are either wireless transmitters or receivers of low-frequency energy. As a subset of internet it lets you connect two or more devices for data transmission and communication.

By operating with one smart device(usually smartphone), you could remotely control any other connected device. Often IoT app solution in smartphones and tablets are used for pairing with other devices.

Why organizations restrict themselves from adopting IoT technology

Despite, IoT led solutions depict a rosy picture, there are several roadblocks that pull away organizations from large scale adoption of IoT technology. Listed below are some of them.

  • Once installed, mobile applications used for IoT technology are difficult to update. As the IoT led app solutions integrate multiple products, any alteration to the app is akin to change in the IoT device in itself.
  • Any change to the IoT mobile app will require changes at the design level of the app. This means any change will have a rippling effect on the entire IoT network system.
  • Developing complex IoT apps call for highly qualified and skilled software developers either in-house or outsourced. It means you need to set up a learning center to train and produce class engineers.
  • As IoT technology constitutes many interconnected devices, any component upgradation needs to be reflected in multiple components. Often changes are incorporated in the mobile application, in remote cloud storage and in other IoT components plus subsystems.

A Guide to Mobile App Development Process

You have a brilliant idea for developing mobile apps, now what? Many of the entrepreneurs are still not clear about the mobile app development process. The app development process should be clear enough before you opt to hire dedicated app developers for your idea.

In 2016, there were 2.6 million apps available on the Google play store, and 2.2 million mobile apps available in the Apple store.

The development of these millions of apps has gone through a lot of thinking and planning. It is important to understand the development process and strategize accordingly.

Few questions you need to be clear about before moving with app development process

The key step is that ‘flash of insight’, the idea. Once an entrepreneur has an idea we recommend they compile details by answering some of the following questions.

  • What platform should the app be on:
    • iOS (iPhone – iPad – iWatch)
    • Android
    • Cross platform
  • Will it be static or will it have new content added on a regular basis?
  • What key features would you like to have in your mobile app?
  • Will it link to Social Media Platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and others?
  • Does it require 2D or 3D animations?
  • Does your mobile app need connections to backend databases? There are other important questions to be answered in order to get your app development process to be butter like. One of the essential factor to consider is budget. As you might suspect the more complex an app is the more it will cost to build. But apps offering more functionality also have the potential to offer higher returns. It’s important to have realistic budget goals when heading to product development.

Applications and use cases of 5G for IoT solutions, AR and VR

4G LTE is already getting a hype. We can estimate that cellular operators will keep on developing this technology for next 3-4 years.  On the other hand, development of 5G is in talks. Moreover, estimation states that the year 2020 will mark as the rolling out of 5G technology.

The smartphone companies engaging in building phones that are 4G compatible. While, we expect 5G to be in the market soon, these manufacturers are now trying to embed the compatibility for 5G in the new generation of smartphones. There are several applications and industries that will be benefited by this technology including mobile broadband providers, ultra-reliable and low-latency communications; and massive machine-type communications providers.

Applications of 5G

Compared with the current 4G LTE technology, 5G is targeting to reach both High speed (1 Gbps) and low latency (1ms or less).

What drives the necessity of this emerging technology? The answer is ‘need for speed’ and ‘internet of things popularly know as IoT’. A generation has evolved demanding faster, higher-capacity networks that can deliver video and other content-rich services.

There are few of the applications that won’t be able to survive with the current LTE technology like industrial automation and utility services, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure transportation, home automation, AR/VR and many more. The rise of 5G is inevitable. It will be a heterogeneous technology that ensures the latency, throughput and capacity requirements. Moreover, network slicing would be the major feature of 5G technology.

By 2025, Huawei forecasts that there will be over 270 networks worldwide where there are local or regional areas with full 5G capability.

Mobile broadband

The broadband evolution has allowed the users to experience faster data speeds and lower latency. However, this has increased the demand of services and mobile applications that are data-heavy. Nevertheless, the transfer of the massive data by the user has revolutionized the ‘cloud’ technology. The speed and latency to transfer the data, however, still needs development. Many other data intensive applications both consumer-oriented and business to business are also on the verge of emerging. Moreover,  illustrations include virtual and augmented reality, 3D and ultra-HD video and haptic feedback applications.

Internet of Things

The wireless industry has significantly identified IoT-based solutions in the recent times. Vodafone’s project to develop a “Cellular IoT” (CIoT) open standard is one example. However, there are two types of IoT solutions and  applications that would revolutionize the 5G technology.]

  • Massive machine-type communications

The attributes of  M-MTC type of applications are massive volume of connections, low cost devices for wireless sensor networks, connected home, smart metering, smart agriculture and many more. These type of application, however, would be feasible even through the 4G networking. But when it comes to huge number of connections with relatively efficient connectivity, we definitely would like to think beyond the existing technology.

  • Task critical applications

This is mainly a machine-to-machine connection where high reliability and low latency are essential factors. Moreover, examples of such applications are connected cars, home automation and remote surgeries (healthcare).

How 5G will revolutionize way of communication.?

Smart Cities

Smart cities will have huge demand of data communication in multiple domains like public transportation, emergency services, water management, etc,.  However, integration of these data simulation with IT system leads to  better planning and real-time. This results in the automated responses to changing situations.

Smart City applications needs an integration with deep network sensors. Though, for effective data flow and communication through this sensor networks, it is necessary to have a ubiquitous connectivity through a network capable of supporting multiple data flows with varying performance requirements, as efficiently and reliably as possible.

Elements of Design Thinking for Enterprise Mobile App Development

By now, every tech savvy individual would have known the impact of mobile app development, either from a user point of view or a vendor’s. While thinking of any successful app developed, there is one thing we would find it hard to imagine is design thinking. The fact states that approximately 77% of the design element is required to make an app a real success considering all the other technical areas are performed properly.

Why Design Thinking is core to Mobile App Development?

The best IT companies know the importance of keeping the UI/ UX at forefront. Delivering a strong mobile user experience is absolutely critical to application design. The appearance of a mobile application is important but design thinking is much more than that. It is important to understand the empathy factor with the users. Ideo, a global design agency, defines Design Thinking as a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology and the requirements for business success.

Building a better Mobile User Experience

Now that we have seen in a nutshell why the design thinking is important, the IT professionals also should think about bridging the gaps between the enterprises and end users with it. One of the most attractive element in User Experience is when a user feels that the icon is real. It should tell the story behind the shadows. It is also how developers, designers or IT professionals should think while building enterprise mobile apps. They should actively work with users to understand their needs. Design thinking focuses on this element by developing deep empathy for the users and create solutions that address their needs.

Understand your Users

User research is the primary factor behind the success of your mobile app development project for any enterprise. For any enterprise, it is impossible to provide services in the most effective way without any knowledge of user’s actual needs. The quicker you understand, the better quality you can deliver to your users. There are no predefined set of rules to follow when it comes to design thinking.

User research helps to gain deep insights into consumer behaviour while adjusting for unique elements of your product and user. There is always a chance during user research that your design thinking may change quickly, yet the goal remains the same. However, this requires an adaptability to change the designs if required in order to increase the chances of your app to be a successful one.

Things to take care while developing disabled friendly website

A website is an important asset for a business – small or an enterprise. Website development helps the businesses to:

  • Be Visible to Customers at All Times
  • Build Brand and Recognition
  • Improve Customer Engagement
  • Stand Out From the Competition
  • Create a Direct Marketing Channel

Your website is a medium by which the information on your products and services reaches your audience globally. But is it really reaching the whole population?

The internet is not disabled friendly. If a blind person needs any information on your product, a non-accessible website (which is meant to be informative) will be of no use to them. Disabled people widely rely on technology. The advancements are massive and impressive to guide them through, very easily. Why not make your website disabled friendly? You can cater a wider audience by doing so.

We have taken few disabilities into consideration in this article to better understand the website development that is disabled friendly.

Things to take care for disabled friendly website development for visual impaired and deaf

Globally the number of people of all ages visually impaired is estimated to be 285 million, of whom 39 million are blind. And over 360 million people suffer from hearing loss. – U.N.

Catering these million of the differently abled audience with your website is a tough job. Here are few things to take care for your website development idea:

  • Alt tags

Alt tags are the tiny words that pop up over an image while you hover your mouse over it. The visually impaired people use a screen reader, a software that reads texts on the website out loud. The alt tags are read aloud by the reader and that’s the only way a person knows what the image is.

James Rath runs a popular channel on YouTube. His Instagram posts always have the caption that describes what’s the image about. This makes the image reach a wider audience. P.S – James Rath is legally blind. He widely uses technology to navigate places and many other things.

Take alt tags seriously and use them as an opportunity to describe the image accurately and succinctly. If it’s a picture of a person, write out the person’s name. If it’s an object, use a couple of words to describe it. For eg, if the image has a mobile phone, add a text saying ‘a black colored mobile phone lying on the desk’. This is the first and essential step to disabled friendly website development, as most websites contain images to showcase their products and services.

LetsNurture turning Museums to Smart museums

As the mobile application era is evolving, the gap between the physical world and the digital world is bridging. With the enormous rise in the technologies like IoT and Beacons, the connection to the internet of is overwhelming. However, many industries have deployed such technologies to bring a betterment in their business process. Beacon based solutions are enhancing many industry verticals to perform at their best and in a more effective manner.Museums and Art galleries are one of the industries that have invested in these technologies and are glad to do so. Museums are looking for innovative ways to interact with visitors.

Why Museums need Beacon based solutions?

No interaction with the audience

Museums don’t have any further contact or score on the daily visitors. They are not able to gauge their visitors on a daily basis and therefore are not able to cater the audience at their best. Once the visitors leave their gallery, there is no further interaction taking place between the management and them.

No accurate tracking of footfalls

In many museums the visitor experience is haphazard. Few of the spaces in the museums become crowded whereas some of them are pretty much vacant. There are no proper means to guide the visitors in accordance. Moreover, there is no kept track record of the footfalls of the visitors throughout the day. However, there is minimal understanding of the traffic flow. This seems a little impromptu for the management.

Can not cater multi-lingual audience

The audiences visiting your museum might be from different country and culture. It is difficult to manage the audience that doesn’t understand the native language. A typical solution for this is to display the information of the art in a common language (English), that most people would understand. This is a solutions that requires a lot of investment and efforts of displaying the information at each and every art.

Why Offshore Development Center means growth?

Offshore Dedicated Center (ODC) is a concept on focusing on core business & enables its to insourced and outsource workforce management, allowing them on achieving their strategic goals. ODC reduces cost of hiring, setting up working place & even sometime visiting the place by just identifying the right people to do the business with.Outsourcing of IT services & Back office work has brought up a lot of innovation & cost effectiveness in business. Based on an organization’s requirements, multiple ODC models are created.

Onsite Model - The outsourced project is accomplished at the client's premises. The project scope is not clearly defined, or a project is open-ended and iterative in nature. The services provided by an onsite partner are: project requirements capture and technology assessment, creating functional specifications, design, coding, testing, maintenance and support.

Offsite Model - The outsourced project is executed nearby from the client’s premises. Offsite engagement involves project initiation, requirements analysis, and execution of the project on all the stages of a software development life cycle.

Offshore Model - The service provider is located in a different country than that of a client. Clients retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights and software source code at the completion of a project.

Onsite/Offshore Model - The project is allocated to two teams specifically located at the client’s premises and another country. The onsite-offsite is preferred for, medium to long-term engagements.

Offsite/Offshore - The outsourced project is divided between the offsite team working near to the client’s premises and an offshore team working abroad. the service provider will have their center near to the client's premises and the job will be distributed between this offsite center and an offshore development center located in a different country.

Global Delivery Model - The project gets executed by a group of offshore teams working from different parts of the world. Gartner defines global delivery model to encompass a "focus on the technical skills, process rigor, tools, methodologies, overall structure and strategies for seamlessly delivering IT-enabled services from global locations".

Why should one opt for ODC Model?

Offshoring has multiple benefits that can aid the growth of an organisation. These include having virtuosos from different streams for specialized work, a massive amount of employees and more flexibility. Let us evaluate these benefits:

Focusing on the core business:

When everything is done in-house it may take the company’s focus away from core business activities. However, ODC model will enable you to delegate mundane activities while you continue to manage the operations that matter to your business. Companies choose to outsource or offshore to primarily focus on their core business processes while devolving time consuming processes to external partners. Organisations can save on their capital and time allowing them to focus on the business growth.

No Infrastructure & Planning Cost

A typical process for an organization that implements IT in-house will include defining of infrastructure. Planning and implementing this plan will cost higher and take more efforts. Instead, offshoring IT to a reliable third party will give the organisation desired result with more benefits and less cost. When you are outsourcing your IT requirements, you don’t have to worry about maintaining an infrastructure or a separate staff. All your IT needs would be taken care by a dedicated team.

No Recruitment Headache

Companies need a separate and not to mention talented people for managing IT department. Recruiting skilled people is a tedious and time consuming task. A long hiring process needs to be followed to employ skillful staff. Outsourcing gives you access to skilled people, as and when you require them. Whether you require less or more resources, outsourcing can provide your company with a irrefutable level of scalability.

No Legal Liabilities

The cost of living is high when compared to other outsourcing countries like India and China. As an organisation, you have to pay the employees a legit amount for their liabilities like taxes, infrastructure, health insurance and liability insurance, in addition to the salary.

ODC model allows you to eliminate these payables. It saves much on the cost to the company. The elimination of legal liabilities will prove to be beneficial wherein the company can actually invest in assets that bring in the profits.

Run your company 24*7

A typical work approach bounds your employees to a shift that includes some hours of the day for work. This means the organisation will also be open to the business opportunities for some specific time-slot. Even with a staff of highly qualified professionals, it would not be reasonable to have them monitor your IT environment every hour of the day.

Offshore ODC model proves to be a solution that allows a company to run round the clock. An outsourcing partner based out of the country that the lead company belongs to will give you the benefit of working across the table. With time zone difference, you get a partner that is available to run your business at hours that are considered odd to work for your geographic location.

Outsourcing saves a lot of time

IT operations might not be your prime competency, and therefore, not your most efficient use of time. Moreover, it can cost your firm unnecessary time and money to find, hire and train an entire in-house IT staff. A lot of time is utilized in the IT management process which takes off a lot of focus from other operations.

ODC model not only allows you to focus on your core business but also saves you a lot of time. This not only helps your firm to save on time but also increases work efficiency.

Why India is a leading Player in Outsourcing?

Largest technical and professional pool:

India has the largest technical and professional talent pool in the world(not just due to the population though). Sir Richard Branson considers India, especially the tech capital or the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore (now Bengaluru), to be the world’s best startup hub and recommends IT offshoring to India. India holds approximately 65% of all outsourced IT jobs.

IT outsourcing friendly policies:

IT is regarded as one of the top industries in India, and the (Indian) government has framed policies to obtain maximum benefit from IT outsourcing to India. India’s outsourcing policies are flexible which encourages the businesses to maintain a hassle free business relationship.

Effective Communication:

Effective communication plays a vital role in decision making and planning strategies. As Indians are known to speak English better than other counterparts, communication is served at the best. English is part of curriculum in almost all discipline. We have seen many CEOs coming out of India nowadays.

Round the clock availability:

Due to a major difference in time-zone, the utmost benefit for companies based in America and Europe is the availability. While the agencies are on holiday or mere enjoying a good night’s sleep, your partner company would be busy working for you.

The IT sector in India is generating 2.5 million direct employments. India is now one of the biggest IT capitals of the modern world and all the major players in the world IT sector are present in the country. - Wikipedia

Rise of the Sensorized World: You Can’t Opt Out of IoT based solutions

IoT spending will reach US$1.29 trillion in 2020 - predicts IDC.

Internet of things is a buzzword everywhere you look these days, from personal utility to industrial technology. It has been estimated that there will be billions of data-spouting devices that are connected to the Internet. And they are actually changing the way we live and work. Even the people who are not tech savvy are getting on the bandwagon of this sensorized and smart world.

The Future is Smart…!!

Just imagine that IoT solutions we know today are just the beginning of a new technological revolution and we have just scratched the surface of what Internet of Things can actually do for us.  More than a third of the consumers have never heard the term “Internet of Things’; are you amongst them?  Then, let’s dive into few IoT based solutions and idea that are ready to impact our lives in near future.

Things getting Sensorized

IoT based solutions benefits the end users by connecting smart devices to perform tasks to deliver additional information, value or functionality.

Using Smartphones, you can now connect directly to your living room and turn off/on the lights, can check if your house is locked, even go to shopping on the way home and almost everything in between. This is not the future, many of these IoT solutions are already available.

For example, think about a personal virtual assistant like Alexa providing a truly personalized experience. Since all the personal IoT devices will be able to communicate with each other, they will not only help our decisions on the fly but they will understand what we need within seconds.

Connected Car Platform

Think of sensors that diagnose problems in your car or that automatically alert you with nearby service station when a breakdown occurs. These IoT advancements are already here.

Another car-related topic where the IoT solutions are changing the status quo is the emerging industry of fleet management. Location tracking, smart routing, apps monitoring a driver’s hour of service, and the automatic adjustment of tire pressure are the advances.

Take for example, an OBD II device that connects to your car to get handy metric data about your driving habits, helping people to understand vehicle’s fuel efficiency and providing location tracking. This IoT based solution is much  more than just a gadget for your vehicle.

Advancement of  Smart City Concepts

The smart city concept is still a work in progress, both when it comes to defining exactly what we mean by the term, as well as its implementation.

Considering the smart city, there are already some applications available in the market:

  • Smart Parking: Used for automatically handling the parking barrier in a parking zone with a digital transaction of parking amount as per the requirement.
  • Smart Plants: Used for live tracking of plant’s health. Know what supplements your crop/plant needs sitting at your remote location, on your smartphone.
  • Smart Museum: Helps visitor to know the stories behind their favorite art piece, provides detailed information about the Artist and let them find art venues in nearby areas.
  • Traffic management: Monitoring of vehicles and pedestrian levels to optimize the walking and driving routes
  • Structural Health tracking: Monitoring the vibrations and material condition of the buildings, bridges and historical places
  • Smart Lights: smart lights will sense your mood and analyse it with your activity patterns through sensors to get the right light.

We are expecting to come out with more and more innovations in this field as everyone is eager to reduce the operational costs.

Tracks Your Health

People will obviously like to visualize the data about their physical activities and the users of wearable technology are really excited to access the data about their daily activities and exercise patterns. Moreover, with the rise in the wearable technology, we are also able to visualize the gamification of the fitness activities. IoT solutions are paving the way to the healthier nation.

Moreover, the wearable technology is taking away the medical field as well about how doctors are using technology to assist their patients. Even, the patients having abnormal conditions can now be reminded about their treatment with the help of their sensorized wristbands. We can imagine that the autism can be diagnosed at the earlier stage, and even the warning alerts about the potential sugar crashes before they actually happen.

Wearable technologies are designed to take the IoT solutions beyond notifying users. They have already become automated tools to track our physical bodies, whenever there is an issue that needs attention.

Simplifies Your Work

Consider factories or metal plants that are benefiting from sensors that are installed in their facilities that provides preventive actions avoiding malfunctions. Moreover you can also consider technologies that ensures the overall health and safety conditions of miners. There are endless opportunities.

Every company is heading to reduce the operational costs that runs a business. There are many methods in the companies both large and small that can improve operational efficiencies with IoT solutions.

Let’s build an IoT based world together

Summing up all, we can challenge on two things: these sensorized devices will make our lives a whole lot better and our smartphone will witness the central hub connecting all. Even, the researchers predict that by 2020, there will be more than 35 billion IoT solutions out there or possibly more.

There are endless opportunities and many exciting things in this field. It is amazing to realize that we have marked an entry in the new technological advancement world. If you are looking to discuss from one of the best IoT company,  get a free quote from us.
